Original Winemaker Notes

Our 2005 Merlot is lustrous, dark-ruby color with a lovely perfume of red and black currants, cream of cassis, pencil lead, Asian spices and wild berries. On the palate, it is a rich layered, velvety-textured wine with complex flavors of spicy ripe black fruit, earth, and cedar. This wine has a great sense of place, beautifully balanced with a terrific, long finish.

Densely packed, luscious flavors of ripe raspberries, currants, and Italian plums explode in the palate of our 2007 Merlot. Hints of cinnamon and flower petals mingle with touches of dark chocolate. Rich layered and concentrated, this plush Merlot finishes with a core of dark red fruits and a long, persistent, velvety texture.

The 2008 Merlot is harmonious, seductive aromas of ripe black cherries, black licorice and exotic spices mingle delicately with rich, melting dark chocolate. Wild berries worth hunting for play with the taster asking them to search beneath the rich mouth feel of silky tannins, appetite encouraging acidity and an impressively restrained spicy minerality.
